Photoshop CC vs. Photoshop CS6

With every upgrade there is bound to changes. Not everyone will be excited about change. Others will however embrace it with open arms. Change is good. Adobe upgraded from creative suit in 2014 to Creative Cloud, because like everything else in the creative space maturity is key.

Adobe Photoshop is not exactly a graphic design software but is used widely used by graphic designers because it is user friendly and literally anyone could learn to use it. A number of graphic designers would profess their undying love for Photoshop.

Now back to the matter at hand. The conversation is still on which of the two, CC and CS6 is the better. The key word here is upgrade. The CC has so many new features that make CS6 look light years older than CC. For instance with the CS^ you could upgrade from one version to the next, on the financial side of thing you pay a lower monthly membership fee.

There are added features like focus Mask. Learning how to use the selection tools in Adobe Photoshop has always been the key to mastering the software, selecting areas, saving selections etc. and Adobe has been progressively adding new more intelligent selection tools to its tool bar. Photoshop CC 2014 adds a brand new selection tool called Focus Mask. Focus Mask intelligently creates selections by examining which areas of an image are in focus. It’s a really useful tool to start making a selection

There is an additional motion blurs. Photoshop CC brings with it two blur filters to the blur gallery, there is a path blur and a spin blur. As the name suggests on these a path blur enables you to create a blur along a specified path and a spin blur enables you to blur on a circular path. Both of these give a great new range of creative opportunities in creating dynamic moving effects to your images

You can also ‘link’ your Smart Objects, with Photoshop CC or ‘embed’ your smart objects this gives you the opportunity to use a smart object in multiple Photoshop CC files, then when you update the original file the new version will appear in all the Photoshop CC documents that you have linked it too.

Photoshop CC may have all these new amazing features but it still goes back to which software you’re most comfortable with. We have experience in both find out how we can assist you with your graphic needs. Check out our website, www.whereisthebeef.co.za for more information.
